Job Summary
The Assistant Professor in Liquid Effluent Management is responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students, conducting laboratory sessions, mentoring students, contributing to research and consultancy, and supporting departmental and institutional activities. The faculty member shall promote sustainable water and wastewater management practices in accordance with industry standards and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching & Academic Duties
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to Liquid Effluent Management.
- Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, presentations, and laboratory manuals.
- Conduct theory, tutorial, and practical sessions.
- Develop and update course content as per AICTE, University, and NBA guidelines.
- Prepare question papers, assignments, quizzes, and evaluation rubrics.
- Assess student performance and maintain academic records.
2. Laboratory Management
- Conduct experiments related to wastewater treatment and analysis.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Develop new laboratory experiments aligned with the curriculum.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and safety standards.
3. Student Mentoring
- Guide students in mini-projects, major projects, internships, and seminars.
- Mentor students for technical competitions and research activities.
- Provide academic counseling and career guidance.
4. Research & Development
- Conduct research in wastewater treatment, industrial effluent treatment, water reuse, and environmental sustainability.
- Publish research papers in reputed journals and conferences.
- Apply for funded research projects and consultancy assignments.
- Develop innovative technologies for liquid waste management.
5. Industry Interaction
- Establish collaborations with industries, pollution control boards, and environmental organizations.
- Organize industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, and training programs.
- Facilitate internships and consultancy projects.
6. Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental committees and accreditation activities.
- Assist in curriculum development and quality assurance initiatives.
- Support admission, examination, and academic administration.
- Organize seminars, conferences, and faculty development programs.
7. Professional Development
- Attend Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and conferences.
- Keep abreast of advances in wastewater treatment technologies and environmental regulations.
- Contribute to NBA, NAAC, ISO, and institutional quality initiatives.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- M.E./M.Tech. in Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related specialization.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field is desirable/preferred as per AICTE/University norms.
Experience
- As per AICTE and affiliating university norms.
- Teaching, research, or industrial experience in wastewater treatment and environmental engineering is preferred.
