Role Summary
We are looking for a talented 4G/5G Layer 2 (L2) Engineer to develop, enhance, and optimize the Medium Access Control (MAC), Radio Link Control (RLC), and Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layers for LTE and 5G NR Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions. The role involves implementing Layer 2 features, optimizing scheduling and resource allocation, integrating with Layer 1 and Layer 3, and ensuring high-performance, standards-compliant RAN software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize MAC, RLC, and PDCP protocol stack features for LTE and 5G NR.
- Develop and enhance MAC scheduling, radio resource allocation, QoS handling, and traffic management.
- Implement Layer 2 procedures, including segmentation, reassembly, retransmissions (ARQ), buffering, and flow control.
- Integrate Layer 2 functionalities with Layer 1 (PHY) and Layer 3 (RRC) components.
- Analyze and resolve protocol, performance, and interoperability issues through debugging and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with system integration, testing, and cross-functional R&D teams to deliver robust and scalable software.
- Ensure compliance with 3GPP LTE and 5G NR specifications.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Solid understanding of MAC, RLC, and PDCP protocols in LTE and 5G NR.
- Experience with MAC scheduling, resource allocation, QoS management, and protocol optimization.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and protocol analysis skills.
- Good knowledge of 3GPP LTE and 5G NR standards.
- Experience working in a Linux development environment.
Tools & Technologies
- Telecom debugging and protocol analysis tools

- Linux debugging tools (GDB, Wireshark, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

- Understanding of Layer 1 (PHY) and Layer 3 (RRC) interactions.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and software performance optimization.
