Head Chef (Indian Cuisine) – Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef specializing in Indian cuisine to lead our kitchen operations in a four-star hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth functioning of all culinary activities
- Design and develop authentic, high-quality Indian menus
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff including Commis and support teams
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are strictly followed
- Manage inventory, food costs, and supplier coordination
- Plan and execute special menus for events, banquets, and seasonal offerings
- Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a hotel or fine-dining setup
- Strong expertise in Indian cuisine (regional varieties preferred)
- Leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP or equivalent)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
