Job Purpose
To ensure quality, food safety, packaging integrity, and regulatory compliance across Tin Manufacturing, PET Bottle Manufacturing, and Edible Oil Packing operations. The role is responsible for monitoring incoming materials, in-process controls, finished product quality, GMP compliance, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tin Manufacturing Quality Control
- Inspect incoming tinplate, lids, handles, sealing compounds, inks, and coatings.
- Monitor critical quality parameters:
- Tin dimensions
- Side seam quality
- Flange dimensions
- Leak-proof performance
- Printing quality
- Coating/lacquer quality
- Conduct leakage and visual inspections of finished tins.
- Verify food-grade compliance of packaging materials.
2. PET Bottle Manufacturing Quality Control
- Inspect PET preforms before production.
- Monitor PET bottle quality during blowing operations.
- Verify:
- Bottle weight
- Neck dimensions
- Height and diameter
- Visual appearance
- Transparency
- Black spots
- Bottle deformation
- Leakage performance
- Approve startup samples and changeover samples.
- Monitor rejection trends and initiate corrective actions.
3. Edible Oil Packing Quality Control
- Conduct in-process quality checks during pouch, bottle, jar, and tin filling operations.
- Verify:
- Net quantity
- Fill weight/volume
- Seal integrity
- Leakage
- Coding accuracy
- Label compliance
- Packaging appearance
- Monitor Excess Give Away (EGA) and filling accuracy.
- Ensure packed products meet approved specifications.
4. Food Safety & GMP Compliance
- Ensure implementation of GMP and GHP practices.
- Monitor:
- Personnel hygiene
- Housekeeping
- Cleaning and sanitation
- Pest control
- Foreign matter prevention
- Verify compliance with food safety requirements throughout the plant.
5. Regulatory & Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with:
- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India regulations
- Legal Metrology requirements
- Packaging and labeling regulations
- Food-grade packaging material requirements
- Verify mandatory label declarations and coding information.
6. Documentation & Record Management
- Maintain:
- Incoming inspection records
- In-process inspection reports
- Batch records
- Hold and release records
- Traceability records
- CAPA records
- Customer complaint records
- Ensure timely completion and retention of quality documents.
7. Laboratory & Testing Coordination
- Coordinate routine testing of:
- Edible oil quality parameters
- Packaging material specifications
- Finished product verification
- Review test reports and release products as per specifications.
8. Customer Complaints & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in customer complaint investigations.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Monitor quality trends and suggest process improvements.
