The Cobol Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining COBOL-based applications on mainframe platforms that support card products, including credit and debit cards. The role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient processing of card transactions and lifecycle management while supporting the bank's business objectives. The developer collaborates with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to implement and enhance card systems in a mission-critical environment. Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL programs for cards systems; ensure batch jobs and online transactions run reliably. * Integrate mainframe applications with internal systems, databases, and external interfaces. * Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing; ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards. * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; coordinate with IT operations for deployment and monitoring. * Work with business analysts, IT managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements intc technical solutions. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation; adhere to IT policies and regulatory standards. * Analyze and optimize COBOL code, batch jobs, andsystem processes for efficiency and scalability. Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and learning initiatives; suggest process and system improvements. Job requirements: 1 Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and VSAM. 2 System Integration Skills - Integrating mainframe applications with internal and external systems. Performance Tuning & Optimization - Ability to optimize COBOL code, batch jobs, and system processes. Problem Solving & Troubleshooting - Analytical skills to resolve production and system issues efficiently. Banking & Enterprise Systems Knowledge - Familiarity with banking operations and transaction processing. 6 Effective communication with stakeholders, teams, and vendors. 7 Willingness to learn emerging technologies and adapt to modernization initiatives.
