Job Summary
The Purchase Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices. The role involves supplier development, vendor negotiations, inventory planning, and coordination with internal departments to support smooth manufacturing operations while optimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete procurement cycle, including purchase planning, vendor selection, and purchase order execution.
- Coordinate with manufacturing plants to ensure timely material availability.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain a reliable supplier and vendor network.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and production requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Finance teams for procurement planning.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Track supplier performance and ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain procurement records, documentation, and compliance with company policies.
- Handle import and export procurement activities in compliance with EXIM procedures.
- Coordinate with local tool rooms and suppliers for tooling requirements and development.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of PVC, PA6, additives, and other polymer raw materials.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor development, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong cost analysis, budgeting, and procurement planning abilities.
- Good understanding of tooling processes and coordination with local tool rooms.
- Working knowledge of EXIM procedures, import documentation, and logistics.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the Plastic, PVC Extrusion, Polymer, or Manufacturing industry.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and inventory control is preferred.
Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
