Roles and Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines and medical products accurately as per valid prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Provide appropriate instructions to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, storage, and possible side effects.
- Maintain proper records of medicine dispensing and controlled drugs.
- Monitor medicine stock, expiry dates, and storage conditions.
- Ensure proper inventory management and timely indenting of medicines.
- Maintain pharmacy registers and documentation as per hospital policies and statutory requirements.
- Follow applicable pharmacy regulations and hospital quality standards, including NABH requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and medication information.
- Participate in pharmacy audits, quality improvement activities, and training programs.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning of the pharmacy area.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Valid registration with the respective State Pharmacy Council.
- Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of medicines and pharmaceutical regulations.
- Good communication and patient counselling skills.
- Inventory and stock management.
- Computer knowledge and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in shifts and as part of a healthcare team.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
