Job Title: Software Architect (Network Automation & DevOps)

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and maintainable network automation systems.
This role focuses on building enterprise-grade automation frameworks, driving standardization, and integrating best practices across CI/CD environments. The architect will define target architecture, automation patterns, and governance frameworks, while collaborating closely with platform, security, and engineering teams to align with business and technology strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy
- Define the target automation architecture and roadmap aligned with enterprise goals
- Drive simplification, standardization, and reuse across platforms
- Evaluate and recommend strategic automation solutions based on emerging technologies and long-term business needs
2. Business Alignment
- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable automation designs
- Enable faster delivery of network services by reducing manual effort and increasing reliability
- Ensure automation initiatives align with business outcomes and operational priorities
3. Processes & Engineering Excellence
- Champion CI/CD strategies, GitOps practices, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Work with tools and frameworks such as:
- Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Python
- Ansible
- Open Policy Agent (OPA)
- Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes preferred)
- Define and enforce automation development standards (coding practices, SDLC)
- Drive:
- Templating and modularization
- Version control and reusable automation frameworks
- Ensure consistent, scalable, and governed automation delivery across environments
4. People & Talent
- Mentor engineers on automation design, tooling, and best practices
- Promote a DevOps and automation-first culture
- Support skill development through:
- Training
- Documentation
- Knowledge-sharing initiatives
5. Risk Management
- Address technical debt and ensure secure automation architecture
- Embed security and compliance requirements within automation lifecycle
- Implement controlled deployment, testing, and rollback strategies to mitigate risk
6. Governance & Standards
- Define and enforce automation design principles and architectural standards
- Establish documentation frameworks ensuring traceability and auditability
- Govern automation pipelines, scripts, and configurations
Collaborate with security and platform teams to ensure regulatory compliance

- Strong expertise in:
- Automation frameworks and architecture design
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
- Proficiency in:
- Python (preferred)
- Automation tools such as Ansible
- Experience with:
- Azure DevOps (or similar CI/CD platforms)
- GitOps workflows
- API-driven automation
Architecture & Design
- Experience in defining scalable, modular, and reusable automation architecture
- Strong understanding of standardisation and platform engineering principles
Experience
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale automation solutions
- Strong exposure to network automation and infrastructure environments
- Experience in banking or regulated industries preferred
