Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment and systems within the hotel. The Kitchen Technician is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minimizing equipment downtime to support efficient kitchen operations and food production.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of kitchen equipment.
- Inspect, service, and repair commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, combi ovens, fryers, grills, salamanders, dishwashers, steamers, refrigerators, freezers, and exhaust systems.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration faults in kitchen equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdown calls.
- Carry out repairs and replacement of defective parts.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs when required.
Preventive Maintenance
- Execute the preventive maintenance schedule as per departmental standards.
- Maintain records of equipment servicing and maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel engineering standards.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
- Maintain safe working conditions and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment complies with food safety and hygiene standards.
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Prepare maintenance reports and work completion records.
- Assist in budgeting and procurement of spare parts and equipment.
Energy Management
- Support energy conservation initiatives.
- Monitor equipment efficiency and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Ensure proper operation of refrigeration and exhaust systems to optimize energy usage.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
