Fortune Data Centres is a growing data centre and cloud infrastructure provider delivering enterprise-grade hosting, colocation, networking, and AI infrastructure services. We are looking for a skilled and proactive L2 Network Engineer to join our operations team and help maintain our mission-critical network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise and data centre network infrastructure.
- Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network security appliances.
- Handle L2/L3 troubleshooting for network incidents and service disruptions.
- Perform network performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimization.
- Monitor network health using tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, ACLs, and routing policies.
- Support data centre operations including rack networking, cross-connects, and customer connectivity.
- Work with ISPs and vendors to resolve connectivity and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response activities.
- Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and implementation projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPNs, and routing protocols.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting firewalls.
- Good understanding of network security best practices.
- Knowledge of network monitoring and logging tools.
- Experience in data centre networking environments preferred.
- Ability to analyze packet captures using Wireshark.
- Familiarity with Linux networking concepts is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, MikroTik, Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, or similar technologies.
- Experience working in a Data Centre, ISP, NOC, or Managed Service Provider environment.
- Exposure to virtualization and cloud networking is desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, NSE, PCNSA, or equivalent will be preferred.
