Job Summary
The Benefits Consultant is responsible for utilizing best-in-class management practices to give clients a holistic perspective on their benefits program, EDI complexity, and the initial setup as well as ongoing use of Paycor’s Carrier Connect service. They serve as the primary contact for client carrier feeds during implementation and are responsible for ensuring that data is setup to flow accurately from Paycor’s HR platform to individual carrier systems. Benefits Consultants will work closely with Paycor’s benefit mapping vendor, insurance carriers, clients, and internal teams to initially configure and thoroughly tests feeds prior to moving them to production. These specialists will occasionally assist clients with Open Enrollment events and will help to ensure that benefit plans are correctly built with EDI interactions in mind.
Successful candidates will have the ability to establish immediate rapport and connection, quickly understand the level of ongoing support each client needs, and tactfully address challenges and concerns. Additionally, they will be team- and solutions-oriented, process driven, and possess the technical know-how to address complex problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Client’s products and features, particularly within the HR and Carrier Connect realms
- Understand the process for building, testing, and deploying benefit feeds to the carrier
- Assist in configuring and modifying client benefit plans to meet EDI and carrier requirements
- Assist in importing employee election data using existing template structure
- Work proactively with teammates to guide clients through Open Enrollment events
- Effectively manage client escalations, pulling in appropriate resources when necessary
- Collaborate with Client’s vendor, carriers, and other stakeholders to send and troubleshoot clients’ benefit files
- Partner with Client’s vendor to report on project status and improve existing implementation processes
- Use Client’s vendor’s portal to initiate new orders, enter carrier information, complete pre-mapping, and enter troubleshooting tickets and manage existing orders
- Assist in training and documenting of processes for colleagues and clients
- Join forces with teammates to meet changing client needs through effective communication, regular meeting attendance, and consistent feedback sessions
- Document critical client communications and interactions in SFDC and utilize Cloud Coach for project management
- Promote Client’s full products and services packages; facilitate lead generation back to Client’s Inside Sales team as appropriate
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- 4 to 5 Years of prior experience in similar role
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience required
- 2-3 years’ experience in a client service position; prior relationship management, project management or business to business sales experience a plus
- Previous HCM, Insurance Carrier, Benefit, and/or EDI experience preferred
- Ability to interface with multiple departments, multi-task, think on your feet, and work independently
- Proven strong customer service and relationship building skills required
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot software configurations and uncover root cause required
- Ability to effectively solve problems by balancing detailed questions with creative solutions
- Flexibility to work both in client facing and non-client facing settings
- Familiarity with SalesForce and SaaS model desirable
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, service-oriented, and ever changing environment
- Proficiency in MS Product Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Project management experience preferred
