Senior Accountant Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, meticulous, and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations and ensure robust fiscal health. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the entire spectrum of accounting activities, from day-to-day ledger management to high-level auditing, tax compliance, and finalization of balance sheets.
The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise in modern accounting principles, an analytical mind, and the ability to present complex financial data clearly to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities Core Accounting & Financial Finalization
- End-to-End Accounting: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Balance Sheet Finalization: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes; prepare and finalize financial statements, Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and balance sheets with absolute accuracy.
- Reconciliations: Oversee complex bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and inter-company accounts.
Auditing & Compliance
- Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external and internal auditors. Prepare necessary audit schedules, workflows, and documentation to ensure smooth and timely audit completion.
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with local, state, and central statutory regulations (including GST filing, TDS, Income Tax, and corporate filings).
- Internal Controls: Maintain, review, and strengthen internal financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent discrepancies.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Executive Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial analysis reports, variance analyses, and cash flow forecasts to senior management and Directors.
- Inventory & Asset Management: (If applicable) Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and inventory valuation/reconciliation.
- Budgeting: Assist in the formulation of annual budgets and track departmental expenditures against allocated budgets.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com), Inter-CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience: 5 to 8+ years of core accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced retail, luxury brand, or corporate environment.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, AS, and Ind-AS accounting principles.
- Hands-on expertise in advanced accounting software (e.g., Tally Prime, SAP, or industry-specific ERPs).
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, highly organized, and capable of managing tight compliance deadlines.
