American Express is seeking an experienced communications professional to support its colleague communications agenda in India. As American Express' second-largest colleague base globally, India represents a significant and diverse colleague community, making effective communications critical to building alignment, engagement and connection across the organization.
Reporting to the Vice President - Corporate Affairs and Communications, Asia, the Manager - Colleague Communications will help develop and execute communications strategies and programs that connect colleagues to the company's business priorities, leaders, culture and values.
The role requires a strong communicator who combines excellent writing and storytelling capabilities with sound judgement, business acumen and the ability to build strong relationships and operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Approximately 8-10+ years of relevant experience in colleague communications, corporate communications, employee engagement or a related communications discipline, gained in-house and/or at a communications agency.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing colleague communications strategies, campaigns and engagement programs within a large or complex organization.
Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex business topics into clear, compelling communications for different colleague audiences and channels.
Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders and developing effective executive and leadership communications.
Strong judgement and experience supporting sensitive, complex or fast-moving organizational and business communications.
Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide communications counsel and work effectively with senior leaders.
Proven project-management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders and deliverables while maintaining high standards within tight timelines.
Experience working across digital and colleague communications channels, with an understanding of evolving communications and colleague engagement practices.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions, businesses, geographies and levels of seniority in a matrixed organization.
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience, preferred.
