Role description
- Strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Experience writing highly optimized DAX queries for data reads on large datasets.
- Experience with Power BI performance tuning, data models, report rendering, and data refresh performance.
- Ability to implement Row-Level Security (RLS), manage workspaces and user access permissions, and establish data governance best practices to ensure secure, compliant, and well-managed data environments.
- Integrate Power BI with cloud platforms such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, etc.
- Strong understanding in Power BI Lakehouse, Power BI Warehouse, and Power BI Dataflows.
- Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and dimensional modeling, to support scalable and high-performance analytics.
- Strong understanding in SQL programming and building scalable ETL pipelines using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services and Azure Data Factory, or similar technologies.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and error-free outputs, ensuring business requirements are implemented accurately and completely during development and unit testing.
- Comfortable working in large-scale, complex projects with evolving stakeholder needs, shifting priorities, problem solving, and continuous feature development.
- Consume and integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and deliver on new business requirements from user stories and proactively seek clarification from Product Owner when requirements are unclear.
