Job Purpose:
The Boys Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall administration, discipline, safety, security, and welfare of students residing in the boys' hostel. The Warden shall ensure a safe, healthy, and conducive living environment while maintaining hostel rules and institutional policies.
Key Responsibilities1. Hostel Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the boys' hostel.
- Ensure proper allotment of rooms and maintenance of occupancy records.
- Maintain hostel registers, records, and documentation.
- Monitor adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
2. Student Discipline & Welfare
- Maintain discipline and decorum within the hostel premises.
- Address student concerns, grievances, and welfare issues promptly.
- Counsel students on behavioral, academic, and personal matters whenever required.
- Foster a positive and supportive hostel environment.
3. Safety & Security
- Ensure the safety and security of hostel residents.
- Monitor entry and exit of students and visitors as per hostel guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel rooms and common areas.
- Report and address any security concerns or emergencies immediately.
4. Hostel Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the hostel.
- Report repair and maintenance requirements to the concerned department.
- Ensure proper functioning of hostel facilities, including electricity, water supply, furniture, and other amenities.
5. Attendance & Monitoring
- Maintain student attendance and movement records.
- Ensure compliance with hostel timings and curfew regulations.
- Monitor unauthorized absences and inform parents/authorities when necessary.
6. Mess & Food Services Coordination
- Supervise hostel mess operations and food quality.
- Address student feedback regarding food and dining facilities.
- Coordinate with the mess contractor and administration for improvements.
7. Emergency Management
- Handle emergencies, medical situations, and disciplinary issues effectively.
- Coordinate with parents, administration, security staff, and local authorities when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety and emergency protocols.
8. Reporting & Documentation
- Submit periodic reports regarding hostel occupancy, discipline, maintenance, and student welfare.
- Maintain records of complaints, incidents, and disciplinary actions.
- Prepare reports as required by the management.
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (Postgraduate preferred).
- Experience in hostel administration, student affairs, or residential facility management is desirable.
