Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and responsible Hospital Pharmacist to manage medication dispensing, inventory, documentation, and pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with applicable pharmacy and hospital standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines accurately against valid prescriptions.
- Verify prescriptions and ensure correct dosage, quantity, and medication instructions.
- Provide appropriate medication-related information to patients and caregivers within the scope of practice.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication requirements and clarifications.
- Maintain accurate records of medicines issued, received, and returned.
- Monitor pharmacy stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Check medicine expiry dates, batch numbers, storage conditions, and packaging regularly.
- Maintain proper storage of medicines as per manufacturer and hospital requirements.
- Maintain records for controlled, restricted, and high-alert medicines as applicable.
- Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory to minimise stock-outs and wastage.
- Receive medicines and verify them against purchase orders/invoices.
- Maintain pharmacy registers, bills, stock records, and other required documentation.
- Support periodic stock audits and reconciliation.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of expired or damaged medicines.
- Follow hospital infection-control, medication-safety, confidentiality, and patient-safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Report medication errors, discrepancies, adverse events, or stock-related concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of medicines, dosage forms, indications, and storage requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer and pharmacy inventory management skills.
- Ability to maintain proper documentation and records.
- Strong understanding of medication safety and patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualification & Eligibility
- B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognised institution.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council, as applicable.
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Freshers with the required qualification and registration may also be considered.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
