Job Summary
The Senior Site Engineer (Civil & Interior Works) is responsible for overseeing the execution of civil construction and interior fit-out activities at project sites. The role involves managing site operations, coordinating with consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining project schedules, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution & Supervision
- Supervise and manage day-to-day site activities for civil and interior works.
- Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Monitor site progress and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants, and subcontractors for smooth project execution.
- Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues promptly.
Civil Works Management
- Oversee structural and finishing works including masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, painting, and external development works.
- Verify layouts, levels, dimensions, and quality of executed work.
- Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
- Ensure compliance with relevant construction standards, codes, and regulations.
Interior Fit-Out Management
- Manage execution of interior works including partitions, false ceilings, flooring, joinery, carpentry, modular furniture, glazing, painting, wall finishes, and decorative elements.
- Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of services within interior spaces.
- Review shop drawings and ensure proper implementation at site.
- Monitor installation quality and finishing standards.
Planning & Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work plans.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material requirements.
- Track procurement schedules and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Conduct site meetings with subcontractors and vendors to review progress and resolve issues.
Quality Control
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with approved quality standards.
- Prepare inspection requests and coordinate with consultants for approvals.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented for non-conforming work.
Billing & Documentation
- Verify quantities executed and prepare measurement sheets.
- Review subcontractor bills and work completion records.
- Maintain project documentation including drawings, approvals, reports, and site records.
- Prepare daily progress reports and project status updates.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections.
- Promote safe work practices among workers and subcontractors.
- Report and investigate site incidents or unsafe conditions.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Attend project review meetings and provide technical updates.
- Ensure client requirements and design intent are effectively implemented.
- Maintain professional relationships with all project participants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Additional certification in Construction Management or Project Management is preferred.
Experience
- 6–12 years of experience in civil construction and interior fit-out projects.
- Proven experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, corporate office, or industrial projects.
- Experience in handling multiple subcontractors and site teams.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil construction and interior finishing works.
- Ability to read and interpret construction, architectural, and interior drawings.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, and billing.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and construction standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project scheduling tools.
