About the Role :
Matrix Hospital is looking for an experienced and dedicated In-Patient (IP) Pharmacist to independently manage and oversee the operations of the In-Patient Pharmacy. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted medicine availability, maintaining inventory, coordinating procurement activities, and supporting patient care through efficient pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage the day-to-day operations of the In-Patient (IP) Pharmacy.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of medicines and consumables required for the hospital.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of medicines.
- Coordinate with pharmaceutical agencies, vendors, and suppliers for medicine procurement and follow-up.
- Raise purchase requirements and ensure the availability of essential and emergency medicines.
- Receive, verify, and process medicine indents from various wards and departments.
- Dispense medicines to admitted patients as per approved IP indents and doctors' prescriptions.
- Maintain accurate records of medicine receipt, issue, returns, and stock movements.
- Perform Goods Receipt Note (GRN) entries and ensure proper documentation of all purchases.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Monitor expiry dates, near-expiry medicines, and ensure proper storage conditions.
- Maintain pharmacy registers, documentation, and reports as per hospital policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and administration regarding medication requirements and pharmacy operations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, patient safety standards, and pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all pharmacy-related activities.
- Handle emergency medication requirements and ensure uninterrupted pharmacy services.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) Registration Certificate
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Hospital IP Pharmacy operations
- Experience in inventory management and hospital pharmacy software will be preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and inventory management.
- Good understanding of medicine procurement, stock maintenance, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and basic computer applications.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage the entire IP Pharmacy of a 50-bedded hospital.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
