Position: Freelance / Project-Based
Industry: Solar EPC / Renewable Energy
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Solar Design Engineer to support us on solar PV projects on a project-to-project basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct solar site surveys and assess installation feasibility.
- Analyze electricity bills and recommend suitable solar system capacity.
- Prepare solar layouts, module arrangements, SLDs, and electrical drawings.
- Perform inverter, cable, protection, earthing, and system sizing calculations.
- Prepare BOQ/BOM and technical specifications.
- Estimate solar generation and project savings.
- Coordinate with installation teams during execution and commissioning.
- Assist with DISCOM/net-metering documentation and technical coordination
- Provide technical support for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Practical experience in solar PV design and site feasibility.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, PVsyst/Helioscope or similar solar design tools.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, SLDs, protection, cabling, and earthing.
- Ability to prepare accurate BOQs and technical documentation.
- Willingness to travel to project sites on an assignment basis.
