Position: Fabrication Production Supervisor / Foreman
Department: Production – Heavy Fabrication
Location: Chakan, Pune

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day heavy fabrication activities on the shop floor.
- Plan and allocate manpower, machines and materials as per the production schedule.
- Read and understand fabrication drawings, GA drawings and shop drawings.
- Supervise fabrication of heavy structural components, beams, girders, frames, assemblies and other fabricated equipment.
- Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, welding, dimensional accuracy and assembly as per drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with Welding, Quality, Design/Engineering and Stores teams to ensure smooth production.
- Monitor welders, fitters and helpers and ensure proper work allocation and productivity.
- Check critical dimensions, levels, alignment and fit-up before sending jobs for inspection/welding.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved WPS, drawings and quality requirements.
- Identify fabrication problems on the shop floor and coordinate for timely resolution.
- Monitor production progress and report delays, material shortages or technical issues to the Production Manager.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use and handling of fabrication equipment, lifting equipment, welding machines and tools.
- Minimise rework, material wastage and production delays.
- Maintain daily production records and manpower reports.
Required Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of heavy fabrication and structural fabrication.
- Good understanding of fit-up, welding, cutting, grinding, alignment and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of basic welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW/MIG and FCAW will be preferred.
- Good understanding of welding defects and basic quality requirements.
- Ability to handle and guide a team of fitters, welders and helpers.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments such as measuring tape, vernier, welding gauges, spirit level, etc.
- Ability to work under production deadlines and manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Strong shop-floor discipline and problem-solving ability.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fabrication / Production Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Experience
Candidates from heavy engineering, bridge fabrication, crane manufacturing, PEB/structural fabrication, pressure vessel, industrial equipment or similar heavy fabrication industries will be preferred.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on shop-floor person, not someone limited to documentation or reporting. The candidate should be capable of independently supervising fitters and welders, understanding fabrication drawings, checking work quality and ensuring that production moves as per schedule.
Pay: ₹10,587.56 - ₹44,006.74 per month
