Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Systems Maintenance
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot:
- HT/LT Panels
- Transformers
- Diesel Generator (DG) Sets
- UPS Systems
- Battery Banks
- Electrical Distribution Boards
- Power Control Centers (PCC)
- Motor Control Centers (MCC)
- Internal and External Lighting Systems
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to all hospital departments.
- Monitor electrical parameters and report abnormalities immediately.
2. Operation of Power Backup Systems
- Operate and monitor DG Sets and UPS systems during power failures.
- Ensure automatic and manual changeover systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain fuel level records and operational logs of DG sets.
- Assist in periodic load testing of backup systems.
3. Preventive Maintenance
- Carry out preventive maintenance activities as per the approved schedule.
- Maintain maintenance checklists and service records.
- Identify potential electrical failures and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure timely calibration and testing of electrical safety devices.
4. Breakdown Maintenance
- Attend electrical complaints and breakdown calls promptly.
- Diagnose faults and restore services with minimum downtime.
- Escalate major technical issues to the Maintenance Manager.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs when required.
5. Electrical Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and hospital safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations.
- Report unsafe conditions and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper earthing and protection systems are functioning effectively.
- Follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
6. NABH Compliance
- Adhere to NABH standards related to facility management and safety.
- Maintain documentation of preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Participate in internal audits and accreditation assessments.
- Ensure all engineering records are audit-ready.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.
7. Emergency Response
- Respond immediately to electrical emergencies and utility failures.
- Assist during fire safety drills, disaster management drills, and emergency situations.
- Ensure uninterrupted support to critical areas such as:
- Operation Theatres
- Intensive Care Units
- Emergency Department
- NICU/PICU
- Laboratories
- Medical Gas Plant Areas
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and electrical system records.
- Record power failures, breakdowns, and corrective actions taken.
- Prepare shift reports and submit them to the Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain equipment history records.
9. Coordination
- Coordinate with Biomedical Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing, Nursing, Housekeeping, and Administration Departments.
- Assist vendors and contractors during servicing and installation activities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out without disrupting patient care.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
