Job Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that paper packaging products meet the required quality standards and specifications. The role involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, and checking finished goods to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials such as paper, board, ink, and adhesives.
- Conduct in-process inspections during production (printing, die-cutting, folding, gluing).
- Inspect finished packaging products for defects such as misprinting, improper cutting, poor folding, or glue issues.
2. Quality Control
- Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Perform random sampling and testing during production runs.
- Identify and report quality issues or defects.
3. Documentation
- Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Record non-conformance reports (NCR) and corrective actions.
- Update quality checklists and inspection logs.
4. Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company quality policies and procedures.
- Follow ISO, GMP, or other quality standards if applicable.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
5. Problem Solving
- Work with production teams to identify root causes of quality defects.
- Suggest corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor improvements and ensure issues are resolved.
6. Equipment & Tools
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, GSM testers, and color matching tools.
- Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection equipment.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of paper packaging processes (printing, die-cutting, lamination, folding & gluing).
- Understanding of quality control methods and inspection techniques.
- Basic knowledge of ISO quality standards.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
