About Us
At AtumX, we are building funtastic, tech-enabled toys and educational tools that make learning robotics accessible and exciting. We design custom hardware, like our ESP32 based SUBO board, and pair it with our own in-house programming app to help students (Grades 1-10) learn through hands-on play. We are an innovative team working out of Anna University, and we are looking for a passionate electronics enthusiast to join our core product team.
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Engineer Intern who loves building projects and tinkering with hardware. Sitting within our Product Team, you will play a crucial role in bridging our hardware with our in-house programming app. Your day-to-day will involve testing app-to-board functionality, designing engaging STEM activities for kids, and collaborating on new product features.
This is a strictly offline internship designed for a minimum of 6 months. However, we believe in rewarding great work, if your performance and impact exceed expectations, we are fully open to reducing the internship tenure and fast-tracking your conversion to a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- STEM Activity Development: Design, build, and document creative robotics and electronics projects/activities targeted at school students.
- App & Hardware Testing: Rigorously test our in-house programming app alongside our microcontrollers to ensure seamless wireless/wired programming and identify bugs.
- Product Collaboration: Work closely with the core product team to brainstorm, suggest, and help implement new app features and hardware improvements.
- Prototyping & Design: Assist in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting new product iterations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Electronics & Microcontrollers: Strong, proven experience building projects using Arduino. (Experience with ESP32 or Raspberry Pi Pico architectures is a huge plus).
- Programming: Solid understanding of C++ and Python.
- Problem Solver: Ability to debug hardware and software integration issues.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills to work effectively within the product development team.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical design, 3D printing (e.g., designing simple PLA enclosures or drone frames), or CAD software.
- A genuine interest in Ed-Tech and making complex concepts easy for kids to understand.
