Job Title: Estimation Engineer
Job Summary
Estimators are responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
● Identify the bid requirement both technical and commercial to prepare a compliant bid
● Prepare and submit request for information to the client / consultant to clarify any ambiguity in the bid request and document
● Prepare request for quotation to the suppliers / sub-contractors to obtain specified material or service quote
● Compare and negotiate the suppliers’ quote to select the most competitive quote to be used in the rate build up
● Examine the drawing details / specification to include in the rate
● Delegate draftsmen for quantity take off to cross check the BOQ quantities and schedules
● Prepare and combine the cost estimate. Ensure the full scope is covered or proper qualification is included
● Conduct site visit when required and consider any cost to be added to the tender ● Attend pre / post tender meeting and capable to prepare a VE bids
● Perform all other duties as assigned by the Senior Estimator
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
● Minimum 5 years’ experience in Estimation
● Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University preferred ●Passionate team player and driven to exceed results
● Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
● Bold personality, strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills preferred
