Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Executive with strong knowledge of construction materials, prevailing market rates, vendors, contractors, and site requirements. The candidate will be responsible for procurement and coordination activities related to real estate and commercial construction projects, while working closely with site engineers and project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of construction and real estate project materials as per project requirements and approved specifications.
- Maintain strong knowledge of prevailing market rates for RCC, cement, steel, plaster, plumbing, pipes, electrical materials, glass & glazing, and other construction materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, labour contractors, and service providers to obtain competitive rates.
- Prepare and compare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of reliable suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors within the Pune and PCMC market.
- Coordinate closely with site engineers and project teams to understand material requirements, delivery schedules, specifications, and site priorities.
- Plan and schedule procurement activities to ensure timely availability of materials and avoid delays in project execution.
- Monitor project-related costs, material prices, contractor rates, and procurement expenses to support effective cost control.
- Ensure materials and work are supplied/executed as per approved specifications, quality standards, project requirements, and timelines.
- Support quality control by coordinating with site engineers and ensuring that procured materials meet the required technical specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain proper records of quotations, comparative statements, purchase orders, vendor details, material deliveries, invoices, and contractor agreements.
- Conduct regular market surveys to monitor changes in material, labour, and contractor rates and provide inputs to management for procurement planning.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders whenever required to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of issues.
- Support management in maintaining project timelines, controlling costs, and meeting overall project requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction, real estate, or infrastructure procurement.
- Diploma / B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, specifications, market rates, and procurement processes.
- Good understanding of RCC, cement, steel, plaster, plumbing, pipes, electrical materials, glass & glazing, and other construction-related materials.
- Experience in negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, labour contractors, and suppliers.
- Strong vendor and contractor network in Pimpri-Chinchwad will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of construction site activities, project planning, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Two-wheeler and valid driving licence are mandatory for site and vendor visits.
- Candidates residing in or around Pimpri-Chinchwad (PCMC) will be preferred.
- Ability to work closely with site engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction/project environment.
