This opening is with a manufacturing company in their head office. The candidate must have a minimum experience of 5 years in purchase department and working in purchase department of manufacturing or capital goods distribution company.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, machinery, and services.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to optimize costs.
- Ensure procurement aligns with production schedules to avoid delays.
2. Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships with reliable vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery timelines, responsiveness).
- Diversify supplier base to reduce dependency and mitigate risks.
3. Inventory & Material Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams for demand forecasting.
- Implement just-in-time (JIT) or lean inventory practices where feasible.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Track procurement expenses and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing or alternative sourcing.
- Balance cost efficiency with quality standards.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, ethical, and environmental standards.
- Manage risks related to supplier reliability, geopolitical issues, or market fluctuations.
- Promote sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
6. Strategic Planning
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
