Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy inventory, providing medication counseling to patients, and supporting doctors and nursing staff with medication-related information while complying with hospital policies and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness. Dispense medicines as prescribed by the treating doctors. Counsel patients on medication dosage, usage, storage, and possible side effects. Monitor drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing. Maintain proper storage conditions for medicines and medical supplies. Manage pharmacy inventory, stock levels, and expiry checks (FIFO/FEFO). Maintain records of narcotic and controlled drugs as per legal requirements. Coordinate with doctors and nurses regarding medication availability and usage. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and quality standards. Participate in pharmacy audits and maintain accurate documentation. Assist in procurement and ordering of medicines when required. Qualifications D.Pharm / B.Pharm (M.Pharm preferred). Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration. 0–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy (freshers may also apply). Required Skills Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug dispensing. Good communication and patient counseling skills. Basic computer knowledge and pharmacy software experience. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in rotational shifts and as part of a healthcare team. Salary As per hospital norms and candidate experience. Pay: ₹8,259.24 - ₹30,135.05 per month
