Reports To: General Manager / Executive Management
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Housekeeping Department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, guest comfort, and operational efficiency across all hotel areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained as per hotel standards and SOPs.
- Supervise, train, motivate, and develop housekeeping staff to maintain high standards of service and productivity.
- Prepare duty rosters, allocate daily tasks, monitor attendance, and ensure adequate manpower coverage for all shifts.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, washrooms, linen rooms, and back-of-house areas.
- Coordinate closely with the Front Office regarding room status, VIP arrivals, early check-ins, late check-outs, room discrepancies, and guest requests.
- Ensure proper control and maintenance of housekeeping supplies, chemicals, linen, uniforms, amenities, and operating equipment.
- Maintain proper inventory records and control departmental expenses while minimizing wastage and pilferage.
- Ensure compliance with hotel hygiene, safety, sanitation, pest-control, and fire-safety standards.
- Handle guest complaints related to cleanliness and housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Coordinate with Engineering/Maintenance for room defects, repairs, preventive maintenance, and other technical issues.
- Monitor laundry and linen operations and ensure adequate availability of clean linen, towels, and uniforms.
- Conduct regular departmental briefings and training sessions on grooming, hygiene, cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and guest service.
- Maintain housekeeping records, checklists, inspection reports, lost & found records, inventory reports, and other departmental documentation.
- Ensure proper implementation of hotel policies, SOPs, HACCP/FSSAI hygiene requirements, and occupational safety procedures.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, disciplinary procedures, and staff development within the department.
- Monitor departmental KPIs, productivity, guest feedback, cleanliness scores, and service standards.
- Ensure proper handling, tagging, recording, and safekeeping of all Lost & Found items.
- Conduct regular meetings with the housekeeping team and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Support the management in maintaining overall guest satisfaction and the hotel's quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Graduate/Diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant housekeeping experience, preferably in a reputed hotel.
- Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager / Assistant Housekeeping Manager is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, chemicals, linen, and inventory management.
- Good leadership, communication, organizational, and team-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.
- Good knowledge of hotel hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and housekeeping/hotel management systems.

Performance Expectations
The Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for maintaining excellent room and public-area cleanliness, guest satisfaction, departmental discipline, effective manpower utilization, inventory control, hygiene compliance, and smooth day-to-day housekeeping operations.
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
