Manufacturing and Quality Technical Hub Hyderabad
Lilly has made a strategic investment of more than $1B dollars to establish a Manufacturing and Quality technical hub. This hub will oversee the significant investment in contract manufacturing of starting materials and intermediates for API manufacturing in India and the technical services responsible for managing the scientific agenda for manufacturing and quality. The hub will be recruiting top talent in the areas of process engineering, chemistry, analytical and data sciences to build a cutting-edge scientific organization supporting the exciting manufacturing portfolio of Lilly.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety culture lab management:

To ensure that appropriate personal protective equipment’s in the laboratory premises are available and follows the safety precautions.

Ensure the good administration and housekeeping of the PRD department work area.
People Leadership

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of process chemists aligned with Lilly culture.

Set clear objectives, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.

Promote a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, safety, and compliance.

Work as a team and take responsibility with accountability.
Scientific & Technical Leadership
-
Plan and supervise post commercial, process development of intermediate and drug substances.
-
Design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical processes with a strong focus on scalability, robustness, safety, cost, and sustainability.

Excel in the observation, recordings and reporting skill sets for the scientific data.
-
Literature survey for information concerning specific chemicals, reagents and processes.
-
The Feasibility study of custom products involves close monitoring / supervision.
-
The Process Optimization shall be made on the selected route based on due diligence and literature during the feasibility studies.

Prior to designing laboratory experiments for process optimization, the MSDS of all input materials shall be obtained and scrutinized for risk assessment.

To improve processes for existing products and improve efficiency in cycle time.

Ensure and sign off the experimental data related to process development studies of the NCEs / API intermediate / target molecules manufacturing are recorded in Electronic Notebook (ELN).

To write process descriptions in the Technical Package and transfer optimized manufacturing strategies to production.

PRD to support the technology transfer team towards the efficient scalability of a given process to the manufacturing site.

To evaluate, recommend new technologies and equipment for synthesis, purification and implement their use in PRD and demonstrate the same to TT.

To support the clients with respect to all the analytical and CMC needs for each project being handled by PRD.

Actively participate in investigation of various complaints and quality related issues like CAPA, closing out the deviations in the manufacturing.

To lead multiple projects and teams
Education Requirement:

Ph.D. in scientific disciplines of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering /Ph.D + Post Doc in Chemistry (focusing more process chemistry) with 12+ years
