The Customs Brokerage Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end customs clearance operations, ensuring full regulatory compliance, managing financial performance (P&L), and leading teams to deliver efficient, accurate, and timely services. The role involves close coordination with government authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders while driving operational excellence and profitability.
- Manage and supervise import and export customs clearance operations, ensuring timely shipment processing and delivery.
- Ensure accurate documentation, tariff classification, valuation, and duty application in compliance with customs regulations.
- Liaise with customs authorities, shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and transporters to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements including Customs Act, DGFT, FEMA, and other trade compliance frameworks.
- Handle audits, investigations, notices, and maintain all statutory licenses and records.
- Monitor and drive operational KPIs such as turnaround time, clearance accuracy, and SLA adherence.
- Own and manage P&L, including revenue growth, cost control, billing accuracy, and collection efficiency.
- Prepare MIS reports, budgets, and forecasts, and identify opportunities for improving profitability.
- Lead, coach, and manage the customs operations team to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and government authorities.
- Handle customer escalations and provide advisory support on customs procedures and compliance.
- Strong expertise in customs clearance processes 8–15 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations and international trade regulations.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks (Customs, DGFT, FEMA)
