Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Engineer with strong exposure to procurement within Automotive or Iron & Steel manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sourcing stainless steel raw materials such as flanges, pipe fittings, and related components, along with a thorough understanding of end-to-end procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, vendor development, and purchase order processing.
- Procure stainless steel raw materials such as flanges, fittings, and piping components.
- Identify and evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, delivery timelines, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
- Maintain procurement documentation, vendor records, and purchase reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Stores teams for material requirements.
- Monitor market trends and raw material price fluctuations.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes within manufacturing environments
- Experience in sourcing stainless steel materials, flanges, fittings, and piping components
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strong analytical and cost evaluation abilities
- Knowledge of Automotive or Iron & Steel industry procurement practices
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/SAP systems
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications & Experience
- B.E. Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
- 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in purchase or procurement roles
- Experience in Automotive or Iron & Steel industry preferred
- Strong understanding of raw material procurement and vendor coordination
