Aryan institute of Engineering and Technology is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Professor of Spoken English to join our Department of [English/Language Studies]. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of fostering effective communication skills among students through innovative teaching methods, research, and service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spoken English instruction, including pronunciation, fluency, and communication strategies, and will demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct spoken English training sessions for students or professionals.
- Develop and implement lesson plans and training materials.
- Assess and evaluate students' language proficiency levels.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to improve communication skills.
- Organize and facilitate interactive language activities and exercises.
- Track and report on students' progress and performance.
- Stay updated with the latest language teaching methodologies.
- Participate in professional development and training programs.
- Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Spoken English, including but not limited to pronunciation, accent reduction, and conversational skills.
- Design and implement engaging course materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Advise and mentor students, providing academic and career guidance.
- Research and Scholarship:
- Conduct original research in the field of spoken English or related areas, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice.
- Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at academic conferences.
- Seek external funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
- Service and Outreach:
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and activities.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of academic programs and initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and maintain current knowledge of trends and best practices in spoken English instruction.
- Community and Professional Engagement:
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to enhance the Department's outreach and engagement efforts.
- Participate in community-based projects and events related to language education.
Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, English Language Teaching, or a related field.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching spoken English at the post-secondary level. Experience with diverse student populations and varying proficiency levels is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong command of spoken English, with an emphasis on clear pronunciation and effective communication.
- Proficiency in using technology and multimedia tools for language instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
