Role Objective
Own the numbers that run the business — build MIS that drives action, control revenue and spend across channels, manage working capital, and be the finance voice that holds the business accountable.
A. What you will own
- Build and own the weekly and monthly MIS — revenue, spend, contribution, and profitability across all channels and SKUs.
- Go beyond data extraction: track CAC, LTV, channel unit economics, and CM1/CM2 at a level that tells you where to push and where to pull back.
- MIS is your instrument of control — use it to drive weekly conversations with commercial teams, flag underperformance early, and push corrective action across Ecommerce, Sales, Procurement, and Ops.
- Maintain budget vs actuals across all cost and revenue heads — weekly, not monthly.
- Ensure management gets a MIS that answers 'where are we, where are we leaking, what do we do' — not one that needs a meeting to decode.
- Own the financial review rhythm — lead Day 1 (Revenue), Day 2 (Spend), and Day 3 (Profitability) weekly reviews with data prepared, insights ready, and actions proposed.
B. Revenue & Commercial Control
- Monitor revenue across Ecommerce, D2C, Offline, and Tender business — weekly, channel-wise, SKU-wise.
- Own the price control register — approved price vs actual, discounts given, deviations, and reasons.
- Identify and flag margin leakage and pricing deviations immediately — do not wait for month-end.
- Manage discount and scheme approvals within delegated limits; escalate above-limit decisions to management.
- Own sales finance oversight for all channels — PO tracking, COGS reconciliation, payment recovery, target tracking.
C. Spend & Marketing Financial Control
- Track all marketing and ad spends by channel — budget vs actual, weekly.
- Flag over-runs with recommendations — not just reports; hold marketing accountable to ROI.
- Align spend with margin structures; call out when spend is not earning its keep.
D. Working Capital, Cash Flow & Debt Capital
- Track DSO, DIO, DPO, and cash conversion cycle — weekly; identify pressure points before they hit.
- Prepare cash flow visibility report for management — inflows, outflows, net position — fixed weekly cycle.
- Own working capital optimisation — not just tracking, but actively improving the cycle.
- Experience in debt capital raising is a strong plus: CC/OD structuring, term loans, NBFC working capital instruments, or invoice/channel financing — if you've done this, you'll own it here.
- Support management in bank and NBFC engagement — financial data preparation, projections, ratio analysis, CMA data.
E. Procurement Financial Oversight
- Validate PO financials before commitment — ensure pricing is commercially sound.
- Plan payment requirements and fund availability for procurement cycles.
- Track vendor outstanding and payment schedules — no overdue build-up without visibility.
F. Reconciliations, Controls & Disputes
- Own vendor, marketplace, and distributor reconciliations.
- Track GRN vs invoice mismatches, marketplace deductions, and payment disputes — resolve, don't just flag.
- Maintain credit control — distributor aging, limit enforcement, collection tracking.
- Inventory financial control — slow-moving and dead stock identification, liquidation planning.
G. You Should Apply If
- You have 3–8 years in operational or business finance — not just accounting or compliance.
- You've owned MIS and P&L reporting independently and used it to drive business decisions, not just produce decks.
- You understand channel economics — ecommerce, distribution, or consumer goods background.
- You're comfortable pushing back on business teams when numbers don't add up — finance here means accountability, not support.
- You're hands-on: you build the model, run the review, and follow up on the action.
H. Non-Negotiables
- Advanced Excel — you will build and own MIS yourself, from scratch if needed.
- Strong grasp of CM1/CM2, CAC/LTV, working capital metrics, and channel P&L.
- Demonstrated ability to use financial data to drive cross-functional decisions — not just report.
- On-site in Bhopal, full-time.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in business or operational finance.
