Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Purchase Manager specializing in Technical Procurement and Capital Goods to join our team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement processes, supplier management, and technical product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for technical goods and capital investments.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of equipment and materials.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of their capabilities and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and service standards are met.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new products.
- Analyze procurement data and reports to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance teams to understand procurement needs and align purchasing strategies.
- Participate in project meetings to provide procurement insights and support project timelines.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and procurement processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on technical goods or capital equipment.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Proficient in procurement software and MS Office applications.
