About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Senior Engineer – Solar Projects to lead and manage solar power project execution from planning through commissioning. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in solar project installation, commissioning, vendor management, procurement coordination, and project execution. The candidate must be willing to travel extensively and effectively coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Knowledge of Kannada is mandatory/preferred, while proficiency in Tamil and Hindi will be an added advantage.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Management
- Lead end-to-end execution of solar power projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety compliance.
- Ensure projects are completed within agreed timelines and specifications.
Installation & Commissioning
- Oversee site surveys, design reviews, equipment deployment, and installation activities.
- Manage testing and commissioning of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during installation and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety norms.
Vendor Management & Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Manage procurement processes for solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and balance-of-system components.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
Technical & Operational Support
- Provide technical expertise in solar system design, engineering, and project implementation.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams for seamless project execution.
- Review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project documentation.
- Support performance optimization and maintenance planning of commissioned projects.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with clients, consultants, government agencies, utilities, and project stakeholders.
- Attend project review meetings and provide progress updates to management.
- Resolve site-related challenges and ensure smooth project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Solar Energy, Project Management, or Renewable Energy will be an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 15–20 years of experience in the Solar Energy industry.
- Proven experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and execution of solar power projects.
- Strong expertise in vendor management, procurement, and commercial negotiations.
- Experience in handling multiple solar projects simultaneously.
- Thorough understanding of solar PV systems, electrical systems, and renewable energy regulations.
