Job Summary
We are seeking a Workday Extend Developer to design, develop, test, and deploy custom applications within the Workday platform. The role will build secure, scalable, and user-friendly Workday Extend solutions that improve employee experience and automate business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday Extend applications aligned with Workday best practices and BP technology standards.
- Build custom applications using Workday Extend tools, APIs, integrations, data models, security settings, and related platform capabilities.
- Translate business requirements and functional designs into technical specifications, application designs, and working solutions.
- Partner with Product Owners, functional consultants, integrations, security, testing, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Perform unit testing, system testing support, defect resolution, deployment preparation, and post-release support.
- Troubleshoot application issues, analyse root causes, and implement sustainable technical fixes.
- Maintain technical documentation, design artefacts, test evidence, deployment notes, and support handover materials.
- Follow structured change, release, configuration management, and governance processes.
- Work in Agile delivery teams, supporting estimation, sprint planning, development, demos, and retrospectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in Workday Extend development, Workday technical configuration, application development, or enterprise SaaS development.
- Hands-on experience in Workday Extend application development, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM, business processes, data models, security, APIs, and integration concepts.
- Ability to write technical specifications and translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Good understanding of application development lifecycle, testing, release management, and production support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile or sprint-based development environments.
Preferred Skills
- Workday Extend certification or relevant Workday technical certification is preferred.
- Exposure to Workday security, integrations, reporting, Prism, BIRT, or functional configuration.
- Experience supporting HR technology transformation or enterprise application development in a large organisation.
