A Multi-Effect Evaporator (MEE) Plant Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring an MEE system, which is commonly used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing, textiles, and wastewater treatment to concentrate liquids while conserving energy.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Starting up and shutting down the MEE plant safely.
- Monitoring operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, steam flow, feed rate, and condensate.
- Maintaining the desired concentration (TDS or solids content) of the product.
- Recording operating data and preparing log sheets.
- Identifying and troubleshooting issues like scaling, foaming, vacuum loss, or low evaporation efficiency.
- Coordinating with maintenance teams for cleaning and repairs.
- Following safety procedures and environmental regulations.
