Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Terminal Manager to take complete ownership of ICD and terminal operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted movement of containers and cargo. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in rail operations, gate operations, ICD operations, EXIM and domestic documentation, order management, cargo handling, and team management.
The role requires a strong operational leader with high standards of discipline, integrity, accountability, and operational excellence, capable of managing multiple stakeholders and leading large ground-level teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of overall ICD and terminal operations.
- Manage rail operations, including rake planning, rake handling, indent planning, placement, and coordination for smooth rail movement.
- Coordinate with Railway officials, Customs, shipping lines, transporters, CHA/FF agents, vendors, and other stakeholders for seamless terminal operations.
- Oversee gate operations, including vehicle movement, gate-in/gate-out processes, documentation verification, and efficient truck turnaround.
- Manage end-to-end ICD operations, including container handling, yard planning, cargo movement, loading/unloading, and equipment utilization.
- Ensure efficient order management, including receipt, processing, execution, and tracking of operational orders.
- Oversee EXIM and domestic documentation and ensure timely and accurate processing of relevant documents.
- Ensure proper coordination between operations, documentation, warehouse, transport, rail, and customer teams.
- Monitor container and cargo movement and maintain accurate operational records.
- Manage warehouse operations, inventory, cargo storage, and stock movement.
- Lead ground-level planning and execution to ensure uninterrupted terminal activities.
- Monitor operational performance against SLA, KPI, productivity, safety, and compliance standards.
- Drive process improvements, cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and operational excellence.
- Manage vendors, manpower, equipment, and other operational resources effectively.
- Prepare and review daily/periodic operational reports and provide inputs for business planning and decision-making.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, statutory, regulatory, and company policies across the terminal.
- Lead, train, and motivate operational teams while maintaining strong discipline and accountability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10–15 years of experience in ICD, Container Terminal, Rail Logistics, Port Operations, or a similar environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Rail Operations, Rake Handling, Indent Planning, and Railway coordination.
- Proven experience in managing complete ICD/terminal operations.
- Strong understanding of Gate Operations, Yard Operations, Container Handling, and Equipment Management.
- Experience in EXIM and Domestic Documentation and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Order Management, cargo movement, inventory, and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of Reach Stackers or equivalent container-handling equipment.
- Strong vendor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and other computer applications.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and team-management abilities.
- Ability to manage field operations and large operational teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
- High level of discipline, integrity, accountability, and ownership.
- Minimum Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline.
Preferred Profile
Candidates currently working in ICDs, Container Terminals, CFS, Port Operations, Rail Logistics, or related logistics operations with strong end-to-end terminal exposure will be preferred.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
