Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities.
- Ensure production schedules are achieved within specified timelines.
- Optimize machine utilization and workforce allocation.
- Monitor production output and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Team Supervision
- Supervise machine operators, CNC machinists, setters, and technicians.
- Conduct shift briefings and assign work responsibilities.
- Train, coach, and evaluate employee performance.
- Maintain discipline and promote teamwork within the department.
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for inspections and corrective actions.
- Investigate quality issues and implement preventive measures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and company policies.
- Conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, fixtures, and gauges.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Monitor raw material availability and consumables.
- Coordinate with stores and planning departments.
- Reduce scrap, rework, and material wastage.
Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Analyse production data and KPIs.
- Report manpower, machine utilization, quality, and delivery performance.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in machine shop operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of CNC machining, conventional machining, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining tolerances.
- Production planning and scheduling skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions
