Job Summary:
The School Nurse is responsible for providing basic healthcare services to students and staff, promoting health and wellness within the school environment, and ensuring compliance with medical and safety protocols. The role involves handling medical emergencies, maintaining health records, and supporting overall student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff during school hours.
2. Assess and manage minor injuries and illnesses; refer serious cases to hospitals or specialists when required.
3. Maintain accurate and updated health records of students, including medical history and immunization records.
4. Administer prescribed medications with proper documentation and parental consent.
5. Monitor students with chronic conditions (asthma, allergies, diabetes, etc.) and ensure appropriate care plans are followed.
6. Conduct regular health check-ups and assist in organizing annual health camps.
7. Educate students and staff on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare practices.
8. Ensure the infirmary is well-equipped with necessary medical supplies and maintain inventory.
9. Coordinate with parents regarding health concerns and medical emergencies.
10. Ensure compliance with school health policies and local healthcare regulations.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
1. B.Sc. Nursing / M.Sc.from a recognized institution.
2. Valid nursing registration certificate.
3. 2–5 years of experience in hospital, clinic, or school setup preferred.
4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to stay calm and respond effectively during emergencies.
