High School Social Studies teachers are responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in history, geography, political science, and economics, particularly for senior grades (IX-XII) in curricula like CBSE or ICSE. Candidates typically need a Master’s degree in a relevant field, a B.Ed., and 2-5 years of experience to foster critical thinking, manage classrooms, and prepare students for board examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Delivery: Develop and execute lesson plans for subjects like History, Civics, Geography, and Economics based on state or national curricula.
- Assessment & Evaluation: Create worksheets, quizzes, and tests to monitor student progress and prepare them for board exams.
- Instructional Techniques: Utilize active learning, real-life examples, case studies, and digital tools to make lessons relevant.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a disciplined, safe, and interactive learning environment.
- Mentorship: Provide regular feedback, support student projects, and facilitate extracurricular activities like debates.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Social Studies, History, Geography, Political Science, or Economics, with a mandatory B.Ed..
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of high school teaching experience, preferably with CBSE or ICSE board experience.
- Skills: Strong subject knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to connect with teenagers.
