The TGT English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language and literature lessons to students of Classes VI to X in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The teacher will foster strong communication, reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly lesson plans.
- Teach English language, grammar, literature, writing, and communication skills.
- Use innovative teaching methodologies and technology-enabled learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, and project work.
- Conduct periodic assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
- Evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
- Analyze student performance and implement improvement strategies.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and create a safe, positive learning environment.
- Encourage active participation and collaborative learning.
- Promote values, ethics, and responsible digital citizenship.
Student Development
- Identify students requiring academic support and provide remedial assistance.
- Encourage participation in debates, elocution, creative writing, theatre, and literary activities.
- Mentor students for holistic development.
Parent Communication
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Share regular feedback on student progress.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in assemblies, school events, competitions, and examinations.
- Perform examination duties, invigilation, and result analysis.
- Maintain attendance and other academic documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school initiatives.
Professional Development
- Attend workshops, training sessions, and faculty development programs.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines and best teaching practices.
- Continuously enhance subject knowledge and teaching skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
- CTET qualified (preferred or as per school requirements).
Experience
- 5 to 6 years of teaching experience in a CBSE/ICSE school (preferred).
- Freshers with excellent subject knowledge may also apply.
