Position: Chemist – Paper Coating
Industry: Sustainable Packaging / Paper Coating
Location: Chanchadwadi
Role Overview
We are looking for a Chemist with experience or interest in paper coating formulations and sustainable packaging materials. The role involves supporting the development, testing, and production of aqueous barrier coatings for paper and paperboard applications.
Key Responsibilities -
- Develop and optimize paper coating formulations
- Conduct lab trials for barrier, heat seal, OGR, and water resistance properties
- Perform quality checks and maintain batch consistency
- Support production scale-up and troubleshooting on coating machines
- Handle raw material evaluation and compatibility testing
- Maintain lab records, SOPs, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with production, R&D, and quality teams
- Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of water-based coatings, polymers, emulsions, or paper chemistry
- Understanding of testing methods such as Cobb, KIT, viscosity, GSM, etc.
- Familiarity with sustainable / compostable materials is an advantage
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualification
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Paper Technology, or related field
Experience
Industry Preference
- Paper coating, packaging, chemicals, polymers, inks, adhesives, emulsions, or specialty coatings.
