Job Summary
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, statutory and tax compliance, audits, financial reporting and team management. The role requires strong hands-on experience, high ethical standards and the ability to present financial information in a clear and simple manner to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including books of accounts, finalization, and period closures.
- Ensure full compliance with GST, Income Tax and TDS including accurate and timely return filings and reconciliations.
- Handle statutory audits and tax audits, coordinate with auditors and ensure timely completion and closure.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Develop and present MIS reports and financial analysis for management review.
- Oversee cost accounting, budgeting and variance analysis.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital effectively.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial data and internal controls.
- Lead, mentor and manage the accounting team to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
- Coordinate with internal teams, management, auditors, banks and statutory authorities.
- Support corporate accounting, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Explain financial numbers, reports and trends in simple and understandable terms to non-finance stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
- CA Intermediate with 3 years of articleship, CMA or MBA Finance required
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS and statutory compliance.
- High integrity and strong ethical standards in financial reporting and compliance.
- Excellent compliance orientation and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, leadership and team-handling skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software like Tally, Zoho and MS Excel preferred
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and collaborate across departments.
