About the Company
We are a leading manufacturer of water storage tanks with production operations across multiple facilities. We are looking for a highly driven Production Manager to oversee production planning, monitoring, and performance across our Haryana manufacturing plant and Bangalore job-work unit.
Job Summary
The Production Manager will be responsible for driving production output, operational efficiency, raw material planning, contractor performance, and inventory control across both facilities. This is a head-office-based role requiring strong coordination, analytical skills, and the ability to manage plant operations through structured reporting, daily reviews, and regular follow-ups.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Monitoring
- Monitor daily production against targets across both plants.
- Track machine-wise and SKU-wise production performance.
- Maintain and update production MIS reports.
- Analyze production gaps and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide daily production status reports to management.
Multi-Plant Coordination
- Coordinate with plant teams to ensure achievement of production goals.
- Conduct daily review calls with plant personnel.
- Monitor adherence to production schedules and capacity utilization.
- Escalate critical operational issues and drive timely resolution.
Machine & Process Efficiency
- Track machine uptime, downtime, and productivity.
- Monitor cycle times, mould utilization, and changeover efficiency.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Identify and implement productivity improvement initiatives.
Raw Material & Inventory Management
- Monitor LLDPE/HDPE consumption against BOM standards.
- Track raw material availability and prevent production disruptions.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely material replenishment.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of raw material consumption and production output.
Job Work & Contractor Management
- Monitor production and quality performance of external manufacturing partners.
- Track contractor commitments versus actual output.
- Review material utilization and finished goods reconciliation.
- Maintain contractor performance reports and support invoice verification.
Dispatch & Production Readiness
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely dispatches.
- Monitor finished goods availability against sales orders.
- Identify and communicate dispatch risks proactively.
Inventory Control & Stock Verification
- Conduct monthly stock verification of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Reconcile physical inventory with ERP records.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Production, Operations, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in Production, Manufacturing, or Operations Management.
- Experience in Plastic Manufacturing, Water Tanks, Rotational Moulding, or Blow Moulding preferred.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory control, and material management.
- Experience managing multiple plants or contract manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (MIS, reporting, data analysis).
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally, Busy, or similar.
