About the Candidate : We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Science/Computer Vision Intern to join our team for a six month internship. The selected candidate will work closely with our data science and computer vision teams to develop and implement algorithms, models, and software solutions to solve real-world problems in digital microscopy.
Responsibilities:
Assist in collecting, preprocessing, and analysing large-scale datasets for computer vision applications.
Design and implement machine learning algorithms and models for image classification, object detection, and image segmentation.
Develop and optimize computer vision algorithms to extract meaningful insights from visual data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computer vision solutions into existing products or systems.
Evaluate and benchmark the performance of algorithms using appropriate metrics and tools.
Document research findings, methodologies, and results in technical reports or presentations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, computer vision, and related fields.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python, with experience using libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, and scikit-learn.
Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, particularly in the context of computer vision.
Familiarity with deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, RNNs) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Experience working with image and video data, including preprocessing, feature extraction, and augmentation.
Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prior research or project experience in data science, computer vision, or related fields is a plus.
