Demi Chef de Partie – Job Description
A Demi Chef de Partie supports the Chef de Partie and kitchen team in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining kitchen hygiene, food safety, and operational standards.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking dishes according to standard recipes.
- Ensure food presentation and portioning meet restaurant standards.
- Support daily mise en place and kitchen preparation activities.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and appearance of dishes.
- Assist in preparing sauces, salads, appetizers, mains, or desserts based on the assigned section.
Kitchen Operations
- Work under the supervision of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Ensure smooth operation of the assigned kitchen section.
- Help in minimizing food wastage and controlling food costs.
- Follow kitchen SOPs and operational procedures.
- Maintain proper storage of food items according to FIFO standards.
Hygiene & Safety
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Keep workstations clean and organized during and after service.
- Ensure proper handling of kitchen equipment and tools.
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards.
Team Support
- Coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth service operations.
- Assist junior kitchen staff and trainees when required.
- Communicate effectively with service and production teams.
- Support during busy hours and special events.
Inventory & Maintenance
- Assist in stock checking and inventory control.
- Report damaged equipment or shortage of ingredients to supervisors.
- Help receive and store kitchen supplies properly.
Skills Required
- Basic culinary knowledge and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Time management and multitasking ability.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred.
- 1–3 years of kitchen experience in cafés, restaurants, or hotels.
- Experience in continental, healthy, or café-style cuisine is an advantage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
