Job Description
AVM Labs is looking for an experienced and hands-on QC Head to lead the Quality Control function and ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, reliability, compliance, and laboratory operations.
The ideal candidate should have an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biochemistry with relevant experience in Quality Control, laboratory operations, diagnostics, healthcare, or a related industry. The candidate will be responsible for managing QC activities, ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards, investigating deviations and OOS results, maintaining documentation and data integrity, and leading the QC team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Quality Control team and day-to-day QC activities.
- Plan, organize, and monitor laboratory testing and quality control processes.
- Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely testing and reporting.
- Establish, review, and maintain QC procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
- Review and approve QC test results, reports, and related documentation.
- Monitor QC performance and ensure adherence to approved procedures.
- Investigate Out-of-Specification (OOS) results, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Identify root causes and implement appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and qualification of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate QC records, documentation, and data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, GMP/GLP, and laboratory standards.
- Coordinate with QA, Laboratory Operations, R&D, and other departments on quality-related matters.
- Train, mentor, and develop QC team members.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to laboratory procedures and quality requirements.
- Support internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Address audit observations and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in QC processes.
- Prepare and review QC-related reports, records, and performance metrics.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of laboratory samples and materials as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. Biochemistry / Ph.D. Biochemistry – Mandatory
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in Quality Control.
- Experience in a diagnostic laboratory, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing and QC procedures.
- Good understanding of quality systems, documentation, and data integrity.
- Knowledge of GMP/GLP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience in OOS, deviation investigation, root cause analysis, and CAPA.
- Experience in laboratory equipment calibration, maintenance, and qualification.
