RESPONSIBILITIES
About the Department
The Finance department of BW LPG India is headed by the Head of Finance and has a planned team size of seven colleagues. The team is tasked with achieving world-class quality in all Finance, Accounting and Compliance activities with a strong focus on ensuring full transparency and zero surprises in all its deliverables.
Role Summary
This role is responsible for AR activities as well as Bank reconciliations for Indian entities of BW LPG.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing customer invoices and credit notes as per instructions from the Commercial department within the framework of agreed contractual arrangements.
- Responsible for recording customer receipts and withholding tax adjustments and updating the receivables tracker for collections. Highlight short receipts and overdue receivables to the Manager/ Commercial department.
- Reconcile bank transactions in Kyriba on a daily basis and prepare bank reconciliation statement. Follow-up on open reconciliation items in the bank recon with respective colleague and escalate for non-closure of such items beyond 2 working days.
- Assist in preparation of monthly TDS working and quarterly TDS returns.
- Support the department in enhancing interdepartmental processes to ensure streamlined procedures. Provide the required assistance in systems initiatives.
- Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the continuous improvement of departmental procedures. Provide financial analysis, both ad hoc and structured.
- Collaborate effectively with Operations, Finance and any other department necessary to perform activities in an effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commerce/ Accounts Graduate from a reputable university with good academic track record
- Minimum 5 years of experience in both AP and AR preferably within the shipping industry
- Strong numeracy and written communication skills
- Possess commercial acumen
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- This is an onsite role based in Mumbai, India.
