- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, employment, partnership, and licensing contracts to protect company interests.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all business operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Corporate Governance: Advise senior management and the Board of Directors on corporate structure, board meetings, and fiduciary duties.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Lead legal due diligence, structure deals, and negotiate agreements for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal risks in business strategies and recommend preventative measures.
- Litigation Management: Manage legal proceedings, lawsuits, and arbitration, acting as the liaison between the company and external counsel.
- Intellectual Property (IP): Manage the company's IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyright issues.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB/BA.LLB/JD) from a recognized university.
- Licensure: Active registration with the relevant Bar Council or licensing body and good networking with legal counsels
- Experience: Proven experience as an in-house counsel or at a corporate law firm.
- Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex legal issues and negotiate terms effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and drafting documents.
